Water Wisteria AKA The HARDIEST Hygrophila (Hygrophila difformis)
Water Wisteria is simply an AWESOME beginner plant. Water Wisteria (or by it's scientific name- Hygrophila difformis) can take anything you can throw at it.
*IMPORTANT NOTICE**THIS PLANT WAS GROWN BELOW the water for 3 weeks. if it isn't fully converted IT SURE IS CLOSE. (Don't be fooled by others selling this plant that will show up above water grown)
We just like to be straight up about our stock- Our Stuff has been grown with Love :) ITS HUGE!!!!! (5-22) (bigger than pen photo)
Wisteria one of those plants that when you get it going it will grow like a weed. Try it out while you are a rookie and see. Water Wisteria does well in a newly planted tank. I like to float it personally as it gets more light and send off some really great long flowing roots. Fish love hiding and breeding in Water Wisteria's roots.
In an order you get 4-6 nice bushy stems of it..often with great roots already going.
The stems are beefy as if they have been growing in down in dirt. This picture doesn't do this great plant justice... This is one of our best selling plants for a reason. We grow them in a 90 gallon aquarium in the greenhouse which gets FULL morning sun. The plants love this and grow like crazy for us...then on to you.
NOTE: While Water Wisteria is one of our best selling aquarium plants, we do stock other forms of Hygrophila as well. (Many of our Hygrophila's are just as hardy)
Check out our HARDY Hygrophila Cordata RED,
Care Scale of 1-10: ( 1- it can grow in your toilet- 10 being nearly impossible)
Wisteria is a 1.5 (only because it might lose a few leaves in shipping)
Can handle super low lighting, grows faster in high light
Where to Plant:
Plants were a little warm (it's 90 degrees outside) when they arrived, and somewhat yellowed, but they appear to be recovering well. They are nice size and good sized bunches. I really like them.
on top of receiving many stems (8-10) they all had very thick rooting and great color. currently they are split between 2 tanks one being low level brackish for my figure 8 puffer hoping they do well
Bunch had about 7 strong stems, that were well rooted. Much of the foliage though was very pale , some almost white. I guess from the time spent in shipping. So I cut them in half, planted the rooted portions, and bundled the top parts together and suction cupped those to the back of the tank as a floater. I am sure the rooted stems will thrive. Time will tell.
I received my order within 2 days, and it included a free gift. THANK YOU
The plants were healthy looking and bright & vibrant. The Java moss was hearty and healthy. I am so very happy I choose you guy. This is my first plant tank but I see it won't be the last. I'm putting your moss on a fake nonsai ornament.
Plants came in MASSIVE. Leaves weren’t looking too good, but I’m just waiting until it bounces back. Got more than I expected and turned my tank into a jungle that will make a nice home for my Gouramis.
