Rotala Rotundifolia "Red" HARDY RED Aquarium Plant
THESE are a wicked plant. They are awesome right now. This is NOT a hard to keep plant.
Rotala Rotundifolia "Red" - This is just a "Red" variation of the uber EASY "Rotala Rotundifolia." Don't over think it.
These have a gorgeous pink and red vibrancy that isn't easy to describe. What we have right now are looking great with nice FULLY UNDER WATER LEAVES. (like all of our plants :)
They are fairly easy to keep and are a beginner plant. The Rotundifolia has a moderate growth rate and enjoys Iron supplementation to fill it's color. Light up your tank with this gorgeous pink and red Rotala! If you are already keeping any sort of plants with success this is the next step.
If you were to ask me. "What is the first Red Stem Plant I should try" I would tell you THIS ROTALA. (Or Ludwigia Repens.) Both are forgiving EASY Plants.

Lighting:
My experience with Rotala is that it is undemanding of high light, but will grow more compact in higher light. Rotala rotundifolia will be a bit more leggy in lower light.

Everything came in great! I trimmed some of the lower stems because it was a little leggy and planted all the rest. It's now growing very well. I was worried my lights wouldn't be strong enough, but they are growing and still really red. I appreciate Dustin's because they grow their plants underwater and they don't melt. Plant arrived healthy. I planted it in my aquarium its doing okay so far. Transition period for the Plant is several weeks. Hopefully it will continue to do well.
