Myriophyllum tuberculatum (INSANE Red Aquarium Plant For Sale)
I wish I would have found this aquarium plant sooner. Wow. I had avoided Myriophyllum tuberculatum because I thought it would be a little too tough to keep. Not so. This Myriophyllum tuberculatum is actually thriving for us despite the fact that it has finer leaves and is red. This plant is similar to a Foxtail or other kinds of Myrio.
I like the leaf pattern on this plant more than others. If you look closely it has a unique woven look to its leaves. We are currently keeping this plant in one of our higher light tanks and it is doing well. This Myriophyllum tuberculatum can handle lower light but won't give you the nicer reddish colors and would be more of a darker brown. It makes a great contrast to any planted aquarium. Buy our Iron Supplement and keep this guy looking this red!
This plant is currently about 5-8 inches tall.
Care Scale of 1-10: ( 1- it can grow in your toilet- 10 being nearly impossible)
We give Myriophyllum tuberculatum at 4 out of 10. It likes a hard cut and replant. (You can propagate it easily this way and make it bushier)
Can handle super low lighting but will grow skinnier, grows faster in high light.
Where to Plant:
I watch Dustin’s fishtanks YouTube channel and got hooked. So now I’m at 3 tanks, trying not to get more until I build my fish shack. Anyways I need some red plants in my tanks ordered this stuff. It arrived in 2 days, just like amazon. My first time ordering plants off the internet, so I didn’t know what to expect. I received two bundles approximately 8-10 stocks, professionally packaged. Plants are alive and in my tank, everything still looks fresh and the red looks awesome! Plus I received a free Annubius plant. (I am plumber, not an English major) Overall I’m very pleased with how my transaction went. Will be using Dustin’s fishtanks again. Thanks for the motivation Dustin your an inspiration to fish keeps and business owners.
I have a 20g long Iwagumi setup, but wanted to have stem plants in the background which is unorthodox for iwagumi setup. Bought Myriophyllum Tuberculatum and several plants from Dustin including Ludwigia Triple Red, Rotala Rotundifolia, Cabomba and Hornwort. The tank looked even better with the stem plants. Here's a pic on 2nd day. Hope I can keep these plants happy for a long time. Tank Setup: 20G, Finnex Planted+ 24/7 LED, Fluval 207 with Fluval surface skimmer, sponge filter and Fluval Stratum. Thanks D for the extras :D!
My order arrived on time and I’m decorating my tank when I’m done decorating I’m going to share pictures with y’all 😎😎😎
I run low tech setups with Dustin's lights and seem to be able to grow most any easy plant around. I love this plant, so I keep it in a number of my tanks. You have to be very careful though, as algae seems to be very attracted to it at the slightest change in your tanks.
Cool looking plant and an amazing sized bundle for the price. It only been about a week and it’s filling out the back of the tank just like I needed. More of a bronzey color given tank conditions but still a wonderful addition
