Mayaca Sellowiniana is amazing plant! It's star like appearance from above is breath-taking! LOOK AT THE SECOND PHOTO. Nice fluffy MEGA EASY PLANT.
These can handle low light NO PROBLEM. This is 100% a beginner plant. We use this in many of our "Can't Kill It" combos for a reason. It is hard to kill.
This plant will settle in and become a FAST grower. Under higher light it will get redish tips
Mayaca Selowiniana give you that "Fluffy/ feathery" look. I has a unique soft look to it from its fine leaves. Cichlids or plant eating fish will make short work of these leaves...
This plant would be great with any kind of shrimp you have as it would simply be awesome to watch something climbing on it. We use this plant for baby guppies as well as it provides excellent cover for them.
This plant makes a great contrast plant along side grassy plants like Val or bit leafy background plants like Ludwigia.

Boy was I shocked at how beautiful this was! One of my favorites, and I cannot wait to get more for my bigger tank! I had an algae outbreak in my shrimp tank and took all my hornwort out and put this one in. I just love it! I had read another review about the needles falling, but it’s expected just a short wort sometimes does. This came in a bit beat up from the Oklahoma heat, but it gained it color next day which is when I’m writing this comment. Absolutely love it. Perfect for my shrimp tank as one of them is about to give birth to baby shrimp.
Ordered 2 bunches of Mayaca on Wednesday night, 20 minutes before the BOGO sale ended. They arrived on Saturday. Not 2, but 3 in the bag! All lush with healthy roots. Much larger than I expected. Had to trim off about 3” so they’d fit in my 5 gal. desktop nano tank at work.
Only downside (my issue, not theirs) is my office is an hour away, so they started to turn yellow before I could get them planted on Monday. With stable water in an established community tank, consistent lighting and a quality all-in-one fertilizer, I’m hoping they’ll perk up after a week or so. I’ll post pictures on IG once they green up a bit. (tanked.in.tampa)
This is my first order from Dustin’s. But, based on this experience, I wouldn’t hesitate to order again.
