Red Clay(Iron for your Roots!!)
We sell Red Clay by the pound. You can add one pound of red clay to any planted tank substrate. One pound is enough for a 20 gallon aquarium. Ever tank is different, but if you want a general rule of green thumb, one pound per 20 gallons of water is a good amount. The clay is red and contains high amounts of Iron which is what your plants love. Plants absorb 40 to 400 times more iron through their roots. Pair this with our Alternathera Reineckii "Variegated" to see the full effect of this Clay!
By adding clay to your planted tank. You are feeding your plants where they are eating. You can see in my many videos how the roots grow toward the clay. Get your plants some clay, even if you aren't ready to convert to dirt, this way you can start to see the power that feeding your plants at their roots provides. Don't believe yet that plants LOVE CLAY? Check out how the roots of my plants grow into it in this video...
I’m not really sure yet. It came with no application directions. I pushed it down into the substrate. And now the water is very cloudy. I may update this tomorrow.
I HAVENT USE IT YET BUT PLAN TO PUT IT IN A NEW SET UP,IN A COUPLE WEEKS. HOWEVER IT IS A NICE SIZE ,AND IT LOOKS EASY TO PUT IN TANK,RIGHT NOW IM WELL PLEASE WITH THE ITEM .THANK YOU AGAIN .I WAS PLEASE WITH ALL ITEMS I GOT,AND WILL BE ORDEING AGAIN
This is my first time buying clay A newbie of plants iI got the iron for my Hygrophila corymbosa plants and Ludwigia Repens that i also got from Dustin .
They was easy to roll I let them sit for 24 hours before adding to the tank . ( there no directions i ) . I like it better then the liquid .. And I want to say Dustin & team is wonderful… they forgot to add the clay with my plant order .. i contacted them and they sent right out.. I have enough to last since i am only adding to 2 plants ….
Only thing i would appreciate if they wrote and sent directions with the clay on drying or adding to tank straight away and how often to change I am not sure how long they will last .. iI was thinking might be like root tabs that I use.
I gave 5 star even though there is no directions .. i gave them 5 stars because of their customer service and the beautiful plants I got
i received my clay today and am excited to see how it works on my plants. the only thing, i wish there were instructions on what to do with it. i rolled it into balls and have it sitting out to dry out. i tried one ball to see if it needed dried first, and it clouded my water for a little bit.
