This plant isn't quite as easy as Rotala, but it's close. (I like it more than Rotala as the leaves are thicker and wider) Think of it like a Ludwigia in terms of ease of keeping. It also has the little roots that run along the stems periodically so it can easily be trimmed down and replanted. Once it is established you will be impressed with its leaves red color. It is best used as a back ground or mid ground plant if you want to keep it trimmed.

Like many other bunch plants you top Alternanthera reineckii and plant the top to spread it out. We will send you between 5-7 stems. This is an awesome plant that may not be available for long. For those of you who jump at the opportunity to add this to your tank, you will not be disappointed.

Alternanthera reineckii is a 3.  The only reason Alternanthera reineckii is a 3 is because it has slightly thin leaves which might cause a few to fall on in transition from our tanks to yours. 

Lighting:

Can handle low lighting, grows faster and looks better in higher light.

Where to Plant:

This is a good mid/foreground plant. Remove the binding. Plant bottom of stem directly into substrate.

Temps: This plant can handle the high 60s but it enjoys an even 70-74 degrees!
