Alternanthera Lilacina (Purple version of our best seller!)
This Alternanthera is almost as easy as our BEST SELLING Alternanthera. This Plant gives you MORE pinkish purple to it...
Like most plants, the fancier looking they get, the harder they are to keep. This Alternanthera is just slightly more demanding then our Best Selling Alteranthera Reineckii. But some things are worth a bit more work :)
We love the purplish hue and just a tad more light will make this plant a show stopper in your aquarium.
Minimal fertilization will help but is not required.
NOTE: Like all of our plants. These Alteranthera are grown under water and ready to POP in your aquarium. (While we don't have a ton of reviews on this plant- yet- read the other Alteranthera reviews... these are made to FLY in your tank)
Get them while have them. This plant is a 4 on a difficulty scale of 1 to 10.

One of several plants I got from here and I am blown away by the quality. First time ordering from Dustin’s and I was impressed beyond words. I am newer to the aquarium hobby and ordered from two separate places and I can’t believe the high quality difference between the two were. I won’t go anywhere else. I got tiny “sample” pieces from the other store that looked dead and struggling to survive. Dustin’s came very well packaged, little to no melting, well grown/sturdy, and beautifully colored with a substantial amount of plant for the cost compared to other places. The plants are thriving. Can’t wait to use plants from here when I upgrade to my dream tank.
Healthy plants and great roots
I couldn't be happier with the color of these plants!! Vibrant just doesnt do them justice. I only subtracted a star because about a quarter of the leaves looked as though they were melting off and not all the stems had developed roots.
I have grown this before with great success. I have been looking for more color variation to create a wow factor. My tank was very full and green, but needed more dimension. This will do it. The plant easily reproduces with trimming out some of the longer stems and replanting. My shipment arrived yesterday, and this is how it came. I plan to rework my setup this weekend, so I have not planted it yet. Thank you! Bev
Pics from today show about one month in the tank, the more blue toned light from when they arrived. Beautiful plants in excellent health. The magenta /purple color has an amazing glow from being so saturated. Under my medium lights that color has faded slightly but the plants are still extremely healthy and pretty. I’m debating putting a spot light to the area to bring that intensity back but they are still very lovely growing with mid light.
