Bacopa Salzmannii Purple is a new plant to us. This plant has the rubbery feel of Bacopa Yellow Flame except instead of fire red, this plant is Bomb Purple!

It has the same thickness of stem as a Bacopa Yellow Flame but isn't as stout. The stem has a tiny bit of fluffy fuzz to it as well. We have found it takes a week or so to really get rolling, once settled in it grows pretty quickly for a plant of this kinda color.

It likes a tad more light but we have found it doesn't mind less light, it just wont settle in as fast.

Unlike Bacopa Yellow Flame, I wouldn't trust this plant with Cichlids, but I would try it with other larger fish.

One nice thing about all Bacopa is that they don't mind being planted in straight gravel, though they do better with a nutrient rich base. GET ONE They are a wild looking plant.

I did not have good luck with the Purple Bacopa

My other plants are doing fine that came with my order. The Purple Bacopa has not done well, day by day pieces are getting smaller and small pieces are floating. I have had it for 2 weeks in the photo. I had all 8 pieces weighted down, I'm down to one, which I suspect will not survive. I would not purchase again, which is sad because in the photos online it looks great. I wasn't impressed with mine from the beginning and wondered if it would survive. I do not seem to have plant eating fish, as I have many other plants they don't seem to bother. Actually, I feel like it should be replaced.

Super purple!

My first purple plant. Frankly, I was expecting more green than purple. Boy, was I pleasantly surprised when I opened the package! Bacopa is one of my favorites. I put one in my daughter's tank with her large goldfish. The other went in my community tank with CO2. Hopefully, it thrives. If so, I will definitely get more.

Nice freshwater purple plant. I’ve never seen another one like it and I work in a pet shop!
