"Hello my name is Dustin and I have a Val problem."

The first step is admitting the problem right?  I love Val and am on a quest to collect ALL of the varieties of Val. I have said it before and I'll sat it again. I would like val in my coffin if something happens to me.

Enter- The next Val. Val Asiatica Biwaensis.

What does it's name mean? I have no idea.  Something to do with Asia. Here is what we do know. It's pretty killer.

This Val is like a mix between Spiral Val (or Val Torta/ corkscrew) with the spiral leaves crossed with GIANT Val.

Yep- it has a thicker and wider leaf to it with a neat spiral as well.

Because of the thicker leaves of this species of Vallisneria, it will take tad longer to grow back than a thin variety if they melt back.

Good plants all in all

Thank you for the extra plants! The plants arrived very cold. They are doing ok but there was a lot of melting. There is a some new growth. I quickly rinsed the plants before putting them in, but I did get snails. I’ve got 4 so far and will continue looking for them a few moments after the lights come on.

All in all, a good purchase.

Awesome background plant

Dustin includes a lot of pertinent information when it comes to each individual plants care. This plant melted back completely as forewarned. After about a week, I started getting green shoots again. I can’t wait until it’s fully grown and twirled.

Just okay for me.

I am very new to aquatic plants, so this may be normal for this species, but a lot of my strands were brownish and came off the main plants. After putting the still green ones in the aquarium yesterday, only half of the strands are green today.

For some reason I have the tendency to kill spiraling plants, but this one is alive and well. It's greeen and lovely. I am really looking forward to seeing is grow nice and tall.

These are so nice. I received several healthy plants of varying heights. The older leaves have started to melt back but new, green growth is already coming up.
