Bolbitis heudelotii also know as African water fern. Who wants a mega hardy fern that can tolerate almost any conditions?

You can thank our late friend, the botanical explorer of West Africa Jean-Pierre Heudelot. Our man Jean-Pierre found this cool plant and gave it the heudelotii name. These plants are coming to you DIRECTLY from Africa to Dustin's tanks and on to yours.

Yep. These are the perfect plants for me to import and for you to keep in your aquarium... why?

First- they can handle the abuse of cichlids with their hardy, thick leaves.

Second- They can adapt to almost any tank conditions. I have always kept them in slightly harder water but I hear they can take softer water as well. Like other ferns such as Java Fern, or its smaller cousin, Baby Bolbitis...

Bolbitis likes to be tied to something. Think of it like you would Anubias. Tie it to a nice rock or driftwood. The one slight drawback to Bolbitis is that it isn't the fastest growing plant.

Because of it's slightly slower growth habit- I've always kept Bolbitis in a bit more water flow, which it seems to like and keeps algae off of it.

Grab a cool piece of driftwood, some super glue or wire and make yourself some Bolbitis trees for your tank.

I bought 5 bolbitis plants and was a bit leary that for the price I paid (almost $100) that I wouldn't get my money's worth.....well, even though the plants (most of them) didn't have the 5 to 7 stems I expected, that was more than made up for by the number of plants sent to me. I received more than double what I expected, and after 2 weeks, my plants all still look great, have not been eaten, and I'm looking to buy some more of these. This time I'll remember to ask for the wire to tie them down. Highly recommend!!!!

I ordered the small 4-6 inches and 6-8 Stems. They were delivered the next day and were probably larger than 6 inches, which was perfect for my 50 Gallon tank, but may be too tall for smaller tanks. All 6 of the rhizomes had at least 2 stems branching off of them with most of them have 3-4. One small order is able to cover a decent amount of space right away and will look very nice once it grows in.

Plant was received in good. shape however it was huge. Way to big for my 10Gal tank, I ended up have to almost cut it half to fit.
