Attention "Billy Beginner" This is the plant for you!
Get your hands on an easy plant that will THRIVE for you in low light conditions.
Cabomba caroliniana. Just like the name sounds, this plant comes from both North and South Carolina here in the USA. This stuff grows easy once it settles in. It has a decent stalk with a frilly leaves.
While this is a hardy plant, some of the leaves might fall off initially as it gets settled into your aquarium after shipping. This makes a great back ground plant, but also a great plant to let hit the surface. It's frilly leaves offer a nice hiding spot to any kind of small fish or even baby fry. You are getting nice full clump of 5 stems.
If you like the look of Cabomba...make sure and check out Limnophila Indica for another EASY, fluffy looking plant that looks very similar.
Care Scale of 1-10: ( 1- it can grow in your toilet- 10 being nearly impossible)
Difficulty: I give Cabomba a 2. It enjoys some good light but typically does well in just about any set-up.
Lighting: It prefers Moderate to High Light but it can handle a low light tank. It may not be as vibrant in color without some decent light.
Get them while they last....
A year later, these are still my favorite plants I’ve ever gotten. I have a low light/low tech tank (just basic LED strip lights, no CO2, I did use root tabs at first but haven’t put new ones in over a year and plants are all just fine). These are so unique looking and add such a nice touch to a tank. If you’re looking for something different yet easy to care for bacomba is the way to go!
These plants really stand out and are a great addition to my existing and brand new tank I'm cycling. Received in perfect condition and as always, Dustin doesn't disappoint.
I ordered cabomba to add to my heavily planted 125 gallon. Plants arrived quickly and in excellent condition. I was given 10 stems which was more than generous. It was so much that I had to split them between two different tanks. This wasn’t my first time ordering and wont be my last.
I have a small 110 gallon pond in my backyard and was researching what plants I could put in it for my goldfish. I finally settled on Cabomba. I was amazed at how wonderful the plants looked when they arrived and how many were in the order. Dustin’s service and quality of plants is superb! They are doing really well in the pond. I have only one request; please branch out to give more information to pond and small outdoor water feature owners. I didn’t know the first thing about how to go about putting them in my pond and had to look elsewhere, but I saw one of your videos. With your enthusiasm and genuine personality, it would be a fabulous addition to your site.
