Water Wisteria AKA The HARDIEST Hygrophila (Hygrophila difformis)
Water Wisteria is simply an AWESOME beginner plant. Water Wisteria (or by it's scientific name- Hygrophila difformis) can take anything you can throw at it.
*IMPORTANT NOTICE**THIS PLANT WAS GROWN UNDER. It had been in near full sun and might have reddish tips. It’s a tad smaller than the pen photo shown....for now. Which is why its $7.99 and not $9.95.
We just like to be straight up about our stock- Our Stuff has been grown with Love :)
Wisteria one of those plants that when you get it going it will grow like a weed. Try it out while you are a rookie and see. Water Wisteria does well in a newly planted tank. I like to float it personally as it gets more light and send off some really great long flowing roots. Fish love hiding and breeding in Water Wisteria's roots.
In an order you get 4-6 nice bushy stems of it..often with great roots already going.
The stems are beefy as if they have been growing in down in dirt. This picture doesn't do this great plant justice... This is one of our best selling plants for a reason. We grow them in a 90 gallon aquarium in the greenhouse which gets FULL morning sun. The plants love this and grow like crazy for us...then on to you.
NOTE: While Water Wisteria is one of our best selling aquarium plants, we do stock other forms of Hygrophila as well. (Many of our Hygrophila's are just as hardy)
Check out our HARDY Hygrophila Cordata RED,
Care Scale of 1-10: ( 1- it can grow in your toilet- 10 being nearly impossible)
Wisteria is a 1.5 (only because it might lose a few leaves in shipping)
Can handle super low lighting, grows faster in high light
Where to Plant:
it arrived a whole day early and in perfect condition! The newspaper was still extremely wet. The wisteria itself looks good. It's on its way to converting to underwater. It's fairly green and looks pretty healthy. I planted some and floated some.
Plants were very nice and healthy!
Love it!! I was really busy when it came so I just dropped it in with the intention of planting it later.. it's been floating ever since, I have a beautiful red double veil tail beta that loves to "rest" in it. He just sits in there perched on a leaf. Funny but beautiful!
Love this plant. Ordered it for my first planted tank. I just got it yesterday. The order was packaged very well and with the plants in mind. The water wisteria spreads out nicely and fills up the tank. The fish love swimming around it but don’t eat it (have a dwarf gourami, platties, and endlers). The leaves are very flowy and look amazing in the tank. The plants came with some roots. I’m floating one stem.
So easy to grow-five stars
