Rotala rotundifolia- Rotala rotundifolia Species Sundays.
A classic plant that for some reason hasn’t really ever been a favorite of mine. I love all plants. But it grows a little too messy for me. I did have it in a 40 basically alone next to a window. It was breathtaking there.
Loves high light but will handle less.
It likes to be cut and topped to stay bushy. Its a tad too much work for my liking. But worth trying out though….
There are a number of varieties of this species that are awesome looking, but they aren’t for the low tech tanks. They have great reds, but take a significant amount of more light, CO2 and ferts. I get a number of cutting from my boy Steve who keeps Rotala in his High Tech 55. If you want see the Rotala for sale just check it out.
