So the other day the contact form on aquatic jungles came through with an awesome question. Do you have 1600 plants of Jungle Val?
My response. “Ummm err…What size tank do you have?”
It turns out that these plants were (and now are) being used for a marina that is doing a wildlife reclamation. This company in the Tri State, New Jersey area was working on a job where they had to remove some of the natives species in the area into another part of the marina.
The guys were looking for this plant to buy and plant instead of moving the plants from the one location. With the plan they were assigned, they would have to use divers and dig up the Jungle Val from one area and put them in another.
I guess divers are expensive as they figured they could buy the plants and only have to plant them once. Sound easy enough.
I was able to work out a deal with them on the Jungle Vallisneria Americana and ship the plants directly to them.
The jungle vallisneria americana was actually a wider variety or Jungle Vallisneria Gigantiea, which could be the same plant. The plant was thicker, around a half inch.
They were concerned that the plants wouldn’t take in the new location on the Delaware River. Let the record state that we were able to move this plant from northern Florida to New Jersey with no problems at all.
It went so well in fact that they called me the other day to order 1200 more.
If you are working any kind of erosion control problems or any kind of environmental reclamation, please, drop me a line in the comments here or better yet, message me on Aquatic Jungles and I’ll call you and discuss your needs.
…who’d have thought I’d be selling that much Jungle Val?
