What spectrum are the bulbs? I saw that you use flora glow or something… what is the Kelvin Rating on those types??
I’ve heard that there is a big argument over whether 10,000k bulbs are better than 6,500K ish bulbs and vice versa and I was wondering your opinion… Or if you use both.

6500, but go with what looks good to you. I would argue for all pinks if I had to pick just one, I think I am running 3 6500s and one white or 10,000. Don’t have the kelvin… The trick isn’t the lighting though….What size tank you got? I’ll give you my two cents…

I have a 75 gallon, 3 T12 fluorescent bulbs in a hood from home depot/white reflectors that I put tinfoil in to increase the par value. 1 phillips plant and aquarium bulb and 2 kitchen and bath/white light. 1 1/2 in fourite substrate almost 1 year old (Considering Dirting the tank after chistmas), 8 hour photo period. Ferts, fourish comprehensive, and kent iron and manganese…(Stopping the ferts because it is causing algae), I have a thread on breeding angelfish if it would be easier to reply there….

do you think it would be worth getting a better light fixture? I was thinking about this one…>

run only one bulb and raise the fixture up 6 inches or so. It would also allow me to grow some plants out of the water, like you have with the wisteria on one of you tanks with the metal halides.

that’s a bad ass light setup for no more than what it costs. Get the white and pink one. 6700. That’s a tight setup. if it has no noise I am a fan.. Let me know how it goes…
